Gosh, this is BMW K-Series. What can we say that hasn’t already been said before? This bike has an unique engine, incredible second-hand affordability. And then there’s all that get up and go! Even a very tired example of a K100 will deliver you 85 hp and 80 Nm of torques – and for little more experience than a lazy weekend away with friends.
Of course, this isn’t exactly a revelation. The number of this bike we now see gracing our road is a testament to this. But just when you think you’ve seen all the bikes, along comes to our shop with something that piques your interests, give your big warm hug and say hello to ‘Bavarian Gentleman’.
We made a new rear frame and then created a seat to fit on top. It was then covered with the light brown leather you see here. After that, we sent the frame and the wheels ‘on a little journey’ in this build. After that we removed of the factory body set, bodywork and not so cool. To replace the original bodywork we made a new tank, side cover, headlight cover, front and rear fender out of 1.2 mm galvanized plate. Finished in solid, silver color mixed with red lines it’s more suited to the bike than the factory tank
The whole engine has been rebuilt and we changed an electronic fuel injection with carburetor from Suzuki GSX-750. Speaking of which, let’s talk wheels, we keep an original rims but wrapped with Shinko Big Block E805 120/80-18 for front and 140/70-17 at the back. For a more retro look the stock exhaust was replaced with a custom 4 in 1 stainless steel header and underslung, vintage style reverse megaphone muffler. This coolest custom exhaust made by our partner, SM Design.
The old front light got replaced and upgraded with a new 7 Inch DRL headlight. The turn signals and the rear light were also replaced with new units and the speedometer is from KTC. The BMW’s brake system then got a new lease of life with parts from a famous brand called ‘Brembo’. We’re guessing you may have heard of them before. To improve a rear sector we changed an original shock and replaced with Ohlins Progressive Shock. The last but not least the stock bars replaced by B-Rocks Fatbar handlebar.
We love the finished bike. Combination of the color choices and simplicity look of the bike that does it included the selection of the appropriate parts. Half his luck.
